Nightseye
Danielle Brutto
Nightseye is a collection of stars using paint scraps peeled from the walls of Atlanta’s Krog Street Tunnel as collage elements. The pieces are sanded to uncover colors and patterns hidden beneath their surface. Each celestial object is a symbol of guidance, memory and endurance. The layers of chipped paint hold pieces of the tunnel’s past, collectively revealing the connection between earthly spaces and celestial bodies - the intertwined histories written both in the stars and on the surfaces below.
